Cloud hosting for healthtech in Rwanda.
Patient records are the most sensitive category of personal data the law recognises. Hosting them abroad turns every deployment into a legal argument.
The problem this sector actually has
Rwandan health innovation runs from hospital systems and diagnostics through supply chain and drone logistics. All of it generates patient or clinical data, and all of it eventually meets the same question from a data protection officer: where is it, and who can reach it.
Patient data never leaves the country
Clinical records, images and logs stay in the Kigali or Huye region, on encrypted volumes, in an isolated project. There is no copy in another jurisdiction to explain.
Access you can prove months later
Single sign-on with enforced multi-factor authentication, role-based access per project and audit logging at both the platform and the operating system layer, retained for review.
Uptime that matches clinical reality
A hospital system that is down is a clinical problem, not an IT one. Two production regions and a tested recovery plan mean an incident in one does not stop care in the other.
Room for imaging and AI
Object storage for imaging at RWF 6 per GB per month, and vector search when you start building retrieval over your own clinical documents. All of it in-country.
What health teams run here
Deployed pre-configured into the Kigali or Huye region, with credentials issued at first boot. You pay for the server, not the software.
Questions
Is it legal to host patient data in the cloud in Rwanda?
Hosting it on infrastructure physically in Rwanda, operated by a locally established entity, is the simplest position to defend, because no cross-border transfer occurs. Your obligations as a controller do not change, and we put the processing terms in writing.
Can we run a private region for clinical systems?
Yes. A dedicated region with your own hardware boundary is available where shared infrastructure is not acceptable to your board or your regulator.
Do you support imaging workloads?
Yes, with S3-compatible object storage and media buckets that compress on storage and serve at original quality, plus block storage for the databases in front of them.
Tell us what you are running.
One conversation with someone who runs the regions. No pitch deck. If the honest answer is that you do not need us, we will say so.
Put it in Rwanda.
Launch from the console in minutes, or call the team in Kigali.
